Project Description

Jupiter Island Landscape

This landscape was designed to provide a beautiful setting for the house and also enhance the views looking out from within the home. In front of the house a cluster of coconut palms are set in a square green panel of grass with a gravel border. A stone and gravel pathway leads to a breezeway that shelters the entrance to the house and also frames a view to the rear of the property where the lawn gently slopes to the river. Behind the house a limestone terrace with a shaded dining area overlooks the pool and the large Banyan tree beyond. The design used low maintenance plants indigenous to Florida, and rainwater from the roof is directed to an underground recharge grid that irrigates the planting beds and allows excess water to filter into the ground.
