Project Description

Pennsylvania Mountain Retreat

In the rolling hills of Eastern Pennsylvania, ten miles from the Delaware River, this house provides a cool summer retreat for a Florida family. A variety of traditional siding materials were used to give the house an appearance of having expanded organically over time. The rift cut hemlock siding was sourced and milled locally and the fieldstone came from a nearby quarry. A timber-frame structure and an insulated panel wall system allowed this home to be built quickly on this difficult to access site. This project was completed with BarlisWedlick Architects LLC and Sterling Builders was the general contractor.
