Project Description

Clearwater Beach House

The owner of this property had an unusual request: to remove their existing large and fairly new residence and build a smaller home. They wanted a one story home more like the bungalow homes originally built in the neighborhood in the early 1930’s. The new house was designed to provide the living areas with the best views of Clearwater Bay, while tucking the bedrooms into the tropical gardens further from the water. The interior of living and dining rooms were detailed to recall rooms in a nearby club built in the late 1920’s. The rooms have custom timber trusses, lumpy plaster ceilings, and the walls are paneled with a limed pecky cypress. In addition to the house project, an existing cabana was renovated, providing a quiet retreat overlooking a tropical pool.
