Pound Ridge Cottage
This project started as a simple addition and renovation. The owners wished to upgrade their two bedroom weekend cottage and add a new kitchen and free standing garage. But in an affluent wooded area of 5-acre zoning, this house’s tiny triangular lot meant that even the existing house did not conform to set-back requirements and any additions could only be approved by obtaining a variance. Through diligent work we were able to obtain these approvals and make this property a beautiful haven for the owners. By keeping the additions modest in size and using materials like fieldstone and cedar shingles, the additions are harmonious with the setting.
